Google just unveiled Studio Bot, an AI coding assistant for Android devs, at their I/O event. This nifty bot, based on Google's Codey model, can generate code, fix errors, and answer questions in Kotlin and Java. It lives right in Android Studio's toolbar, ready to help (or silently judge) developers' coding skills. Don't worry, you don't have to share your source code with Google, but they will know about your chit-chats with Studio Bot. For now, it's a U.S.-only affair in the Canary channel, with no global launch date. Looks like Google is joining the AI-coding-tools battle against Microsoft and Amazon. Let the code wars begin!

Get ready for Transformers Agent, a new experimental API that's like a transformer on steroids. It's a natural language API that uses curated tools to interpret your commands, from generating images to reading out loud. To get started, you'll need to instantiate an agent, which is essentially a large language model (LLM). It supports OpenAI models (not free, but good), or open-source alternatives from BigCode and OpenAssistant (free, but a bit basic). And it can either execute single tasks (using the run() method) or chat-based tasks (using the chat() method). Just remember, it's all fun and games until your coding prompt gets misunderstood!

Google's got a new trick up its sleeve: AI-created images will now come with an invisible 'Made by AI' tag. Worried you'll be fooled by a dapper Pope Francis in a winter coat? Fear no more! This 'hidden info', or markup, will help Google Search identify such digital artistry, and flash a neon sign saying, 'Image self-labeled as AI generated'. This move by Google is the latest attempt to unmask the generative AI masters of disguise. And it's not just Google playing this game; Shutterstock and Midjourney are also jumping on the 'label-it-first' bandwagon. So, folks, watch out for those algorithmic media illusions!

Welcome to the era of Open Source AI where your overpowered, dust-collecting PC suddenly has newfound relevance! You see, there's this thing called Stable Diffusion that, thanks to our friends in the open-source community, runs AI tools locally, making your PC more than just a fancy paperweight. And no, you don't need to sell a kidney for subscriptions! Meta's LLaMA and Stanford's Alpaca-Lora mean you can now run massive AI models on your home PC. So, buckle up folks! It’s time to ride the wave of disruptive tech, where your 'monster' PC is the new cool kid on the block.
