Google's Bard can now write code

PLUS: Humane's AI Wearable, Medical ChatGPT Knockoff

Hey guys, this is Beeps. We are back with some exciting AI news just for you! Google's Bard can now write and debug code / Humane showcased a screenless AI-Powered Wearable / Stack Overflow now charging money for training data much more!

Let’s do this!

Google's Bard AI chatbot is stepping up its game, now helping developers with generating code, debugging, and code explanation. Supporting over 20 languages, users can even export Python code to Google Colab. But don't get too excited — while Bard can help debug your code, it's still an early experiment and could provide misleading or false information confidently. Although not quite matching ChatGPT's performance, Bard's new skills might just help it keep up with the competition. So, give it a try, but remember, it's not perfect — because who doesn't love a chatbot with flaws?

Ex-Apple employee Imran Chaudhri revealed a sneak peek of Humane's AI-powered wearable at a TED talk. This screenless wonder doesn't need a cell phone and uses voice and gestures for input, projecting info onto nearby objects. Chaudhri demoed the device translating his voice into French and answering a call with info projected on his hand. He called it "good AI in action," with more details coming soon. The secretive startup has already raised $230 million from big names like Microsoft and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. So, get ready for a wearable that might just make you feel like Tony Stark, minus the Iron Man suit!

Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli is back, this time with a medical ChatGPT knockoff called Dr. Gupta. Claiming it could replace all healthcare information, this AI tool seems more like an ethical and privacy nightmare. Gizmodo tested Dr. Gupta, finding it no more revolutionary than ChatGPT and questioning its accuracy. Shkreli, once dubbed "the most hated man in America" is already on regulators' radar again. With potential issues regarding medical advice, data privacy, and accuracy, Dr. Gupta might need a check-up of its own. So, are you ready to trust Pharma Bro with your health?

Stack Overflow, the popular programmer Q&A site, is planning to charge large AI developers for access to its treasure trove of 50 million questions and answers. Following in Reddit's footsteps, Stack Overflow wants a piece of the AI development pie, as companies like OpenAI and Google have been enjoying free training data for their large-scale AI projects. CEO Prashanth Chandrasekar believes that community platforms should be compensated for their contributions, so they can reinvest in their communities. Will this move slow down the AI development race, or just ensure that the rich get richer? Only time will tell!
